Things to consider when installing a garden zipline:

Working at height
Consider whether the proposed installation will involve working at height, particularly where elevated take-off or landing platforms may be required. Appropriate access and safe working methods will need to be considered.
Anchor suitability
Trees or other proposed anchor points must be suitable for the loads associated with the installation. Their size, condition, position and suitability will form part of the assessment.
Ride design
The length, gradient and layout of the proposed zip wire all influence the design of the ride. Each installation is considered individually to suit the site and intended use.
Equipment compatibility
All components used within the zip wire system need to be compatible with one another and appropriate for the proposed installation and intended use.
Implied load
The expected weight of users and the forces generated during use need to be considered when specifying the zip wire, anchor points and associated equipment.
Implied speed
The layout and gradient of the zip wire affect the speed a rider may reach. This needs to be considered as part of the overall design of the installation.
Implied deceleration
A suitable means of slowing and stopping the rider is an important part of the design. The required deceleration will depend on factors including the ride layout, speed and intended users.
Inspection regime
A zip wire should be inspected and maintained appropriately throughout its working life. The required inspection regime will depend on the installation, equipment and frequency of use.
